Agricultural Finance Sector Seminars for Financial Institutions


To increase knowledge of loan officers on loan assessment in rural area AzAFF TA team conducted sector seminars.


The overall objective of the seminars is to promote agricultural lending in FIs by capacity building to enable them to expand their outreach and meet the demand of many agricultural clients via training courses for mid-level banks employees.

Trainings were delivered in three modules including but not limited to “Agricultural lending”, “Agricultural Value Chain Finance” and “Azerbaijan Agricultural Loan Evaluation System-AzALES”. The programme has designed as 2 days training session.

International and local experts of the project conducted the trainings in an interactive atmosphere aiming to increase knowledge of loan officers on loan assessment in rural area, appraisal of financial performance of agricultural businesses, loan monitoring and supervision in rural area, early identification of problem, including problem indicator & reason and etc. During the second day of the training AzALES was introduced and strongly promoted by showing practical samples in the system. Along with explanation of key concepts, participants had the chance to implement what they have learned through case studies.

AzAFF TA team has organized four 2-days bank training sessions with participation of 44 participants from 18 FIs.

At the end of training sessions, all participants were awarded with participation certificate.
